A collection of online lectures, describing the key metabolic pathways by which cells break down glucose and fatty acids to release ATP or ‘useful energy’.

The lectures cover the following four key pathways, explaining each one’s importance and going step-by-step through the reactions involved and how they are regulated. Each lecture lasts about 45 minutes and is supported by self-check questions and links to additional online resources.

  1. Introduction to Metabolism
  2. Glycolysis
  3. TCA Cycle
  4. Oxidative Phosphorylation
  5. Fat as Fuel
