Accessibility

Introduction
This accessibility statement applies to the KHP Learning Hub (https://learninghub.kingshealthpartners.org/). Learning Hub is the name KHP uses for our learning platform.  The Learning Hub is comprised of a number of complementary applications. The underlying application is the third-party  application LearnWorlds.
King’s Health Partners use LearnWorlds to support learning and teaching by providing course materials and information, assessment tools, discussion forums and other features.

Using the application
We want as many people as possible to be able to use, read and understand the content of the Learning Hub.
This means that you should be able to:
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the application using just a keyboard
  • navigate the application using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the application using a screen reader

Due LearnWorlds being a third-party application, some aspects of accessibility on are outside of our immediate control.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this application is
Although the underlying application is WCAG 2.1 AA compliant, we know some parts of the Learning Hub may not be fully accessible. The complexity and volume of content available presents difficulties in identifying all accessibility issues. Users may experience issues depending on the course/area they are accessing. For example:
Many of our PDFs and Word documents don’t meet accessibility standards - for example, they may not be structured so they’re accessible to a screen reader. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 4.1.2 (name, role value).
Navigation using only a keyboard is possible for much of the content, but it doesn’t work for all elements; for example, some elements on Learning Hub pages cannot be reached using the keyboard alone.

Some uploaded content e.g., PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, may not be fully accessible. Some interactive content types e.g., SCORM and H5P may not be fully accessible. Our site includes third-party content and functionality. We cannot always guarantee its accessibility.
