South East London Integrated Care System (SEL ICS) RISE line management programme.

Module 6: Developing your team

Welcome to this module on developing your team, the sixth instalment of the South East London Integrated Care Service (SEL ICS) line management programme.

As a manager, a core part of your role is to enable your team members to develop. This means having productive development conversations that enhance trust and help team members to grow and contribute more to organisational capability.

As health and care professionals in South East London, this is vital for building a strong workforce, allowing you to invest in your staff's skills to help them feel valued, stay motivated and encourage them to remain in health and care within our region.

By the end of this module, you should be able to:
  • distinguish between organisational capability and organisational dependence
  • identify challenges in developing organisational capability in health and care organisations
  • apply principles of positive feedback to development conversations
  • outline the core aspects of productive career conversations
  • outline core principles for coaching conversations
  • apply a coaching model to coaching conversations.
This module should take you about 30 minutes to complete.
