South East London Integrated Care System (SEL ICS) RISE line management programme.
Module 7: Health and wellbeing
Welcome to this course on health and wellbeing, the seventh instalment of the South East London Integrated Care Service (SEL ICS) line management programme.
People who are happy and healthy are more likely to stay in their jobs and perform at their best. However, it can be all too easy to lose sight of this – especially in health and care roles, where demand is often high and resources can be limited. This is where managers have a real opportunity to make positive change within their organisations.
Taking real action to support your team members' health and wellbeing not only leads to a more sustainable, high-performing workforce, it also enables you to meet everyone's needs, fulfil people's potential, and maintain a higher standard of care across our communities in South East London.
By the end of this module, you should be able to:
-
identify the key factors impacting people's wellbeing at work
-
describe how to have a 'wellbeing conversation' to assess team members' needs, and plan appropriate support
-
identify and employ the necessary tools to help manage sickness and long-term conditions in your team
-
outline the flexible working vision and principles of the South East London 'Wellness at Work' strategy
-
explain the benefits of flexible working and how to approach it following these principles
-
describe strategies for promoting flexible working to give your team members the work/life balance they need.
This module should take you about 30 minutes to complete.
