About this course
An extraordinary amount of cutting edge COVID-19 learning and research has taken place across the partnership organisations and beyond. To highlight this work, and to support our colleagues in delivering effective, safe, high quality and evidence-based care in the "second wave," we hosted a day of virtual webinars where academics and clinicians shared their learning, research and expertise. Sessions were designed to be interactive and included panel discussions. The programme included highlights on the basic science underlying the pathology of the virus, the acute clinical impact of the disease on the lungs, kidney, heart and brain and the trajectory of recovery, both physical and psychological. The final session focused on how clinicians and organisations can effectively plan for the "second wave" and ensure delivery of high quality and effective clinical services.
