Module 8: Systems thinking and partnership working

Welcome to this module on systems thinking and partnership working, the final part of the South East London Integrated Care Service (SEL ICS) line management programme. 

As a manager, you're working as part of multiple systems. To lead effectively and tackle the challenges you face on a regular basis, it's not only helpful but essential to think in terms of the interrelationships between different parts of the systems we're working in. Knowing how to think and work as a wider team not only boosts collaboration, it also reduces common challenges that impact performance, such as silo working and competition.

By the end of this module, you should be able to:
  • define systems and systems thinking
  • explain the benefits of systems thinking and partnership working in the context of health and care in South East London
  • explain how systems thinking and partnership working can enable health and care change and improvement
  • apply systems thinking tools to problems and challenges in health and care.
This module should take you about 30 minutes to complete.
