About this course
Attending the course and completing the course assessment will lead to the award of a South East London Primary Care Menopause Certificate. This course assessment is only for those who have participated in the face-to-face course.

Learning outcomes
  • Understand core menopause physiology, terminology and the diagnostic approach used in primary care
  • Recognise appropriate indications, contraindications and regimen choices for HRT, and independently apply these in common situations
  • Incorporate lifestyle and non-pharmacological interventions into personalised menopause care Understand and work to overcome inequalities in access to menopause services
  • Diagnose premature ovarian insufficiency and early menopause, investigate and refer appropriately, and advise patients on the need for oestrogen replacement and contraception
  • Identify presentations of genitourinary symptoms and sexual dysfunction and apply evidence-based management approaches
  • Recognise complex cases – such as those involving cancer history, endometriosis or VTE risk – and advise and refer appropriately
  • Assess abnormal bleeding in peri- and post-menopause, including unscheduled bleeding on HRT, and utilise appropriate pathways for investigations.
