About this course
Venous needle dislodgement (VND) and CVC disconnection (CVCD) are underreported life-threatening complications of hemodialysis.Although a very rare occurrence, VND is minimised by focussed physiological assessment prior to haemodialysis and troubleshooting such alarms promptly.

By taking this course you will:
  • Have a deeper awareness of venous needle and central venous catheter dislodgement and the complication associated
  • Develop the skills for undertaking venous needle and CVC dislodgement risk assessment
  • Increase your awareness of the different types and tools that can be used to reduce the incidence of venous needle and CVC dislodgement
  • Revisit the use of the Chrevon technique in needle
  • Revisit the HD alarms and review causes of alarm fatigue
