About the course:

This course is a refresher on Tracheostomy care. It focuses on the Nursing management, how to set up your bedspread, the red flags/emergency management of a tracheostomy, and how to wean your patient successfully.

By the end of the course you should be able to:

• Explain the difference between a Tracheostomy and a Laryngectomy
• Understand the indications for a tracheostomy
• Know the safe management of a tracheostomy
• Understand the complications of a tracheostomy
• Know more about weaning and decannulation
• Spot red flags and tracheostomy emergencies
