About the course:

This is is for all health and social care staff who have service users with severe mental illness. The learning content is specifically designed for staff who wish to improve their confidence and increase awareness of addressing the issue of sexual function.

The course covers:

• Addressing erectile dysfunction in mental health settings
• Erectile dysfunction in physical health
• Asking questions with confidence
• Referral pathways for people with erectile dysfunction
• Awareness of the current treatments of erectile dysfunction

By the end of this course you will have:

• Knowledge and awareness of erectile dysfunction in mental health settings
• Increased confidence in asking about ED in mental health settings
• Gained awareness of the connection between ED and physical health
• Knowledge of appropriate referral pathways for people with ED
• Confidence in promoting a sex positive message for both clinicians and patients

Emily McBrearty Sexual Health Nurse Practitioner | Kings College Hospital NHS Trust I am a sexual health nurse practitioner at the Camberwell Sexual Health Centre. I serve a diverse patient group treating sexual health conditions, and provide contraception. My patient group includes vulnerable adults and young people, and members of the LGBT and BAME communities, living and working in Lambeth. I have an interest in sexual dysfunction and health inequalities. This eLearning Module has been developed in order to improve the sexual health and function of people living with psychosis.
