About the course:
DATE: 17th June, 09:00 – 13:00.
What does this course cover?
The course has been designed for paediatricians in training to improve communication skills using a variety of scenarios and subsequent debrief. The sessions incorporate realistic scenarios routinely used in this programme and facilitated by a trained Faculty across Kings College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trusts.
The simulation-based 4-hour session with a professional role-player will provide participants with more experience in challenging communications scenarios experienced in paediatrics.
Who is it for?
The course is aimed at paediatric doctors who are international medical graduates and open to all paediatric doctors in training.
Learning outcomes
Participants are expected to practise in role plays or observe the scenarios and actively contribute to discussions (debriefs).
Learners will develop knowledge, understanding and skills related to communication with patients and families, especially in the context of complex or potentially challenging conversations.
